What is Kate?

Kate is an AI coaching agent built on Anthropic’s Claude. She starts by interviewing you — your background, career goals, and what you’re optimizing for — so everything that follows is grounded in your specific situation, not generic advice dressed up as personalization.

And unlike most AI tools, Kate takes notes. She doesn’t rely on lossy AI memory — she writes structured session files so she always knows where you left off, what you’ve worked through, and where you’re headed. Just like a good coach would.

The Who Method

Kate is built on the frameworks from G.H. Smart’s Who methodology — one of the most rigorous approaches to executive hiring. Most candidates never see how they’re actually being evaluated. Kate flips that: you learn to make the case for yourself the way the best hiring managers think.

Fit Assessment

Before you invest time preparing for a role, Kate helps you decide if it’s worth your time. She interviews you about your background and career goals once, then uses that context to assess any role you’re considering — identifying where you’re a strong fit, where there are gaps, and whether this is a target, stretch, or reach opportunity. No more preparing for roles that were never right to begin with.

Interview Preparation

Kate helps you build a library of specific, compelling stories drawn from your own experience. Using the STAR method, she pushes back with follow-up questions until each story is tight — and where it makes sense, pushes you toward concrete demonstrations over assertions. Show, don’t tell.

Post-Interview Debrief

After an interview, most people replay the conversation in their head and hope for the best. Kate does something more useful. Share your interview transcript — or connect Granola and Kate pulls it automatically — and she’ll give you a clear-eyed assessment of how the call actually went: what landed, where you left value on the table, and what the interviewer likely took away. Over time, Kate tracks patterns across your interviews so you’re not making the same mistakes in round three that you made in round one.

Resume Alignment

Kate compares your resume against a specific job description, identifies gaps, and helps you reframe your experience to match what the hiring team is actually looking for. This isn’t keyword stuffing — it’s positioning.

Company Research

Before any interview, Kate runs structured research on the company — business model, recent news, competitive landscape, culture signals — and helps you turn it into a point of view. You go into the room with real context, not surface-level talking points.

Role Monitoring

Kate keeps an eye on the market so you don’t have to. Tell her which companies you’re interested in and she’ll monitor open roles on your behalf, flagging new postings that match your target level. You stay focused on the conversations, not the job boards.
