Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 2026 · Last updated: March 2026
This policy describes how I collect, use, and handle information across the apps and tools I develop and publish as an independent developer. Where an app has practices that differ from or add to this baseline, those specifics are called out in the app-specific section below.
1. Who I Am
These apps are developed and operated by Chris J. Bell, an independent software developer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can reach me at the contact information at the bottom of this page.
2. What Data I Collect
The data I collect depends on which app you are using. Across all apps, I limit collection to what is necessary for the app to function. I do not sell your data. I do not use your data for advertising.
Data types that may be collected depending on the app include:
- Information you provide directly, such as text inputs, uploaded documents, or account details
- Data retrieved from third-party platforms you explicitly authorize (such as Whoop or Apple Health), accessed only through official OAuth flows with your consent
- Basic usage information, such as error logs, to help me diagnose and improve the app
I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
3. How I Use Your Data
Data is used solely to deliver the features you are using. Specifically:
- To process your requests and return results within the app
- To pass relevant data to third-party AI or API services that power app features, as described below
- To maintain the security and performance of the app
I do not use your data to train AI models, build marketing profiles, or share with third parties for their own purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
My apps rely on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy practices:
- Anthropic: Some apps use the Anthropic API to power AI features. Content you submit may be processed by Anthropic's systems in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy and Usage Policy.
- Supabase: Some apps use Supabase for data storage. Data stored in Supabase is subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Apple: Apps distributed through the App Store are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. Each app's data practices are disclosed in the App Store privacy nutrition labels.
- Whoop: Apps that connect to your Whoop account do so via Whoop's official OAuth flow. Whoop's data practices are governed by Whoop's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
I retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service. If you stop using an app, data associated with your account may be retained for up to 90 days before deletion unless a shorter period applies or you request deletion sooner. Some apps operate without persistent storage, processing data in real time without retaining it after the session ends. App-specific retention details are noted in the sections below where relevant.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including the ability to access, correct, delete, or export your data. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale (though I do not sell data). To exercise any of these rights, contact me using the information below.
7. Security
I take reasonable measures to protect your data, including using encrypted connections and following secure development practices. No system is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
8. Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, the effective date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of an app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
App-Specific Details
The following sections describe data practices specific to individual apps. These supplement and do not replace the general policy above.
Kate (AI Career Coach)
What Kate collects: Kate is an AI-powered career coaching assistant. To function, Kate processes information you share about your job search, including resumes, job descriptions, interview notes, and other career-related content you choose to provide.
How Kate uses your data: Content you share is passed to the Anthropic API to generate coaching responses. Kate may also store files and session context locally within the Cowork environment on your own machine to support continuity across sessions. In this configuration, you control local storage directly.
Third-party AI processing: Kate relies on Anthropic's Claude models. Content you submit is processed by Anthropic in accordance with their privacy policy. I do not retain copies of API conversations on my own servers.
Retention: Locally stored files remain until you delete them. No career or personal data is retained on my servers.
Whoop MCP Server
What this app accesses: This tool connects to your Whoop account via Whoop's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. With your permission, it retrieves health and fitness data including recovery scores, sleep data, heart rate metrics, and strain data, based on the scopes you approve during authorization.
How your health data is used: Data retrieved from Whoop is passed in real time to an AI model (via the Anthropic API) to power queries and insights you request. This data is processed in session and is not stored on my servers after your request is fulfilled.
Sensitive data notice: Whoop data is biometric and health-related. I treat it with heightened care. It is not used for any purpose other than responding to your direct requests within the app, and it is not shared with any party other than Anthropic for request processing.
Revoking access: You can revoke this app's access to your Whoop data at any time through your Whoop account settings under Connected Apps.
Retention: No Whoop data is retained after a session ends. I do not log or store health metrics.
